  • Browser information: Browser type, device type, screen resolution (for compatibility)
  • IP address: For security and fraud prevention (not linked to personal data)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Process Pro license purchases and activations
  • Improve user experience and fix bugs
  • Prevent fraud and abuse
  • Respond to support requests

3. Data Storage

3.1 Local Storage (Your Browser)

Your saved calculations and preferences are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This means:

  • Your calculation data stays on your device
  • We cannot access your saved calculations
  • Clearing browser data will delete your saved calculations

3.2 Server Storage

We store minimal data on our servers:

  • Pro licenses: Email and license key (encrypted)
  • Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics (no personal data)

RateCalc uses minimal cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function (authentication, preferences)
  • Analytics cookies: Optional, anonymous usage tracking to improve the Service

Paddle.com (Payment Processing)

All payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all payment information, tax calculations, and invoicing.
